Mumford & Sons (San Manuel Amphitheater - June 2, 2013)

How can I even describe the event that took place yesterday? It was always a dream of mine to see Mumford & Sons live one day, but considering their tickets were impossibly hard to obtain, I never did. UNTIL LAST NIGHT. I bought my tickets late March, and finally saw them. I honestly cannot put into words how amazingly epic they are. WOW.
I am just going to go into full detail about my day.
So, my cousin and I arrive at San Manuel Amphitheater around 12:45 pm to get good placing in the pit section (since it was general-admission). We waited in the heat for 3 hours. I got sunburned, regardless of how much sunblock I applied -- but it was well worth it. The gates opened at 3:10 pm, and we ran off to get our side of the pit. We were actually super lucky and only had a few people in front of us. The band was literally only 30 feet from us. Which made the experience pretty damn fantastic. 50,000 people showed up...which apparently is the most Mumford has ever seen in their audience. HOW INSANELY AWESOME, right?! the crowd was nuts. Everyone that surrounded me was friendly and just too cool. We all helped each other out, screamed lyrics at one another, blocked anyone who tried to make their way to the front, joked, laughed, cried, but mostly   jammed out. Whether, you were 45 years old, 30 years old, 20, or 16 - Mumford & Sons turned all 50,000 individuals into a child. They were just THAT good. I am so deeply and madly in love with Marcus Mumford....his raspy voice is heavenly, he plays the drums like some bad ass, and really pours his soul into every performance. Ben, (the pianist) was so entertaining to watch. He kept his glace at me (or at least my section) (har har har) and I loved every second. Oh, and as they performed "Ghost That We Knew" I just couldn't help but cry and get all emotional because that song is literally my favorite, and it speaks to me in ways no one will ever understand...but anyways, all the nice people around me, held my hand, and even hugged me... and were just great, and ah....it was a lovely experience. <3 All the members of Mumford are just too rad. At one point, during their one-mic performance, two guys a couple people behind me started just yelling at each other and nearly got themselves into a fight (I was terrified and honestly just bothered... why would someone want to ruin their experience with hate?!) anyway, the boys finished their song, and Marcus came to our side of the stage, asked my group if we were okay (I am not kidding) and then said through his mic to the guy shouting, "You COOL?!" and it was so awesome because after that, the "fight" ended and we went back to jamming out. Mumford ended with "The Cave" and my goodness... just... it was nothing short of beautiful. I want to go back!!!!! I feel like a new person: it was THEE greatest experience of my life. A true concert experience that I'll never forget for as long as I live. I am so incredibly happy.
