A video everyone should watch.

"Female" a slam poem by Anna Lieberman

It's so hard to come to terms with ourselves, to acknowledge we're absolutely worthy, beautiful, and capable -- society has made us believe otherwise, and this Anna gal couldn't have presented it better. I struggle on a daily basis: waking up every morning, looking in the mirror and realizing that I still don't have a model body, and that my face isn't fault-free is such a challenge for me. I beat myself up and literally allow myself to think no one will ever fall in love with someone like me, no casting director will ever want me for a movie or TV show. Those thoughts are real and they haunt me every single day. It's sad because I only feel and think this way because of society. Because of them, I don't feel pretty enough for the world.... which, quite frankly pisses me off. There are millions of other females who wake up unsatisfied as well and it really sucks. Fortunately, for me, I understand (and it's hard) but I understand that the perception of beauty isn't defined by the makeup we wear, the size two pants, the Rapunzel hair, or the straight, white teeth .... beauty can't even be defined... because putting a definition next to beauty is still somehow going to exclude something and someone out. And beauty doesn't exclude.
